Beth Whitfield, President
Beth studied abroad at the AAIE in 1984 with the program at the Univ. of Delaware. Upon completion of her degree there, she found herself right back in Vienna for her first job in international operations at Girozentrale. Working in Vienna was ideal for keeping in touch with the Weissgaerbers and all the activities at the Institute. That partnership has continued ever since.
After that she worked in several cities in Germany and Switzerland, as well, before returning to the US in 2002, where she taught German at her children's bilingual immersion school in Cincinnati, OH. Her favorite job by far was raising Rachel and Austin, who are now in high school and very active in music and sports.
Beth currently works for a language service company as an interpreter and internally, providing medical and legal interpreters to companies and hospitals in the Greater Cincinnati area. She also enjoys coaching a summer diving team. She's hoping to bring her family to Vienna for the next reunion, to show them where her international career began!
